Arne Semsrott leads FragDenStaat.de and is an expert in the domain of Freedom of Information (FOI). With a background in political science, he also works as a freelance journalist and engages with other NGOs in topics related to transparency and lobbyism, e.g. for Hochschulwatch.de and the Whistleblower Network.
Zoé Titus is passionate about the media and its potential to make a positive and profound change on the lives of people. She has dedicated the last 20 years of her life to advance media freedom and development in southern Africa in various dimensions. As a former regional director of the Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA), she’s spearheaded a number of projects and campaigns designed to provide practical support to journalists in danger and transform the policy environment to support a vibrant and independent media sector. Zoé Titus is presently the Strategic Coordinator of the Namibia Media Trust (NMT) which, as of 2018, is the first African organisation to contribute financially to the sustainability of the Unesco Guillermo Cano World Press Freedom Prize.
Bheki Makhubu is a journalist from Swaziland with 30 years of experience. He is the editor and columnist of The Nation magazine, a monthly periodical in Swaziland, which publishes critical analyses on the country’s social and political situation as well as breaking news. The Nation Magazine has become the foremost critic of government excesses as the country teeters on the brink due to a failing economy and has emerged as the sole independent publication in Swaziland.
Lisa-Maria Kretschmer works as Head of Research and Project Coordinator for Reporters Without Borders (RSF), and in that position has implemented and supervised media transparency projects worldwide. Prior to RSF, she has worked in the field of human rights and resilience as well as on the role of media in conflict transformation, amongst others for the German Development Agency (giz), a Member of the German Parliament, and at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich. She studied Political Communication, Journalism and Economics in Germany, The Netherlands, Denmark and Israel.
