From the changing dynamics in the balance of power, an emboldened North Korea and the threat of the different shades of terrorism and radical extremism, there are serious concerns about the prospects for peace and security in the region. SUMMARY The analyses and the findings of the Report of the Reflection Group, entitled ‘Providing Security in Times of Uncertainty: Opting for a Mosaic Security System’ (FES, 2017) resonate well with imperatives of achieving peace and security in Asia. Within the context of the ASEAN region there still needs more serious efforts to coordinate the mosaic of security architectures and to realize the vision of a ‘caring, just, democratic’ and inclusive ASEAN and the wider Asian community.
