What role can the G20 play in realizing the Global Sustainability Agenda? And which responsibilities must they assume as the strongest worldwide economies? The english-language closing document from our think tank conference “The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development – International Cooperation and the G20 Presidencies of Germany and China” is now available for download. It contains recommended actions for the G20 governments that have already been presented for discussion at the Bundestag as well as with representatives of the German government.

At the conference, working groups discussed the fight against poverty and inequality; climate change and the decarbonization of the economy; connectivity, trade and development, and questions of development financing.

The event was hosted by the German Development Institute (Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik), Shanghai Institute for International Studies, the Renmin University and the FES. It took place in Berlin on May 12 and 13 and also included other G20-Engagement Groups, such as the representatives of labor (Labour 20) and civil society (C20).
