Local and regional anniversary publications of the SPD

Since the 1970th a new interest in regional history arose in Western Germany. This led to a downright history movement which was hallmarked by historical investigations, reminiscence work, history of eveyday life and microhistory.

Right from the beginning the German Social Democratic Party with its manifold local branches played an important part within this movement. This bottom-up historiography led to the publication of a great number of anniversary publications produced by regional and local SPD branches. These publications are collected and indexed in the FES Library.
