Across Europe, artistic freedom is increasingly under pressure. With the international conference Under Pressure! Defending Creative Freedom in Times of Right-Wing Populism in Europe, the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung explores how culture and politics can jointly respond to authoritarian and populist tendencies.
Featuring contributions from Sharon Macdonald (Humboldt University Berlin), Helge Lindh (Member of the German Bundestag), István Hiller (former Hungarian Minister of Culture), and Lavinia Frey (International Literature Festival Berlin).
The conference will be held in English, with simultaneous translation into German.
