2024 will be a decisive year for the EU. In times of crisis and when progressive policies are needed more than ever, the elections to the European Parliament will help shape the future of the Union. The FES is enriching the European discourse with fresh ideas to craft a European Union that is fit for the future. Our Twelve Missions for a Progressive Europe present forward-looking and practical steps that can be taken at a European level to improve the daily lives of our citizens whilst, at the same time, strengthen the ability of the European Union to act decisively internally as well as externally.
On 14 November 2023, we launched our Twelve Missions for a Progressive Europe and discussed how to build an EU that succeeds in protecting us at both home, through community, and from external risks with our FES President Martin Schulz, Member of the European Parliament Matthias Ecke and Slovenian Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Tanja Fajon.
