­We are pleased to invite you to our upcoming panel discussion, "Arab Trade Unions. Between Democratic Deficiency and the Need for Reform", co-organized by the Institute for International Political Economy (IPE) at the Berlin School of Economic and Law (HWR).

­The discussion will examine the current challenges facing trade unions in the Arab world and situate these developments within a broader international context, drawing lessons relevant to trade union movements globally.


Program:

4:00 - 6:00 pm: Panel discussion

Speakers

  • Mohamad Trabelsi, former Minister of Social Affairs and Labour, Tunisia, and an ILO senior specialist of workers' activities for the region Northern Africa.

  • Reiner Hoffmann, former president of the German Trade Union Confederation (DGB) and Vice President of Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES)
