Dear Madam/Sir,
The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES), the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace (Middle East Program) and the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP) are pleased to invite you to participate in their joint conference
“Collective Action and Diplomacy in the Middle East. Which Prospects for Regional Security?”
from 23 to 24 June 2026 at the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Berlin, Hiroshimastraße 28, 10785 Berlin.
The conference aims to examine the contexts and drivers of collective action and diplomacy in the Middle East, assess their successes and shortcomings, and identify prospects for future cooperation. Special emphasis will be placed on the role of regional middle powers, changing security dynamics, and the implications of these developments for regional order and the engagement of external actors.
Participants will include leading experts, policymakers, and civil society representatives from the Middle East, the United States, and Germany. In view of your expertise and extensive experience in Middle Eastern affairs, we would be honoured to welcome you as a participant in the conference.
Please find the preliminary program for your information.
The conference will be held in English under Chatham House Rule and is by personal invitation and registration only.
We look forward to your reply and sincerely hope to welcome you to Berlin for what promises to be a timely and highly relevant conference.
