Hass, Ausgrenzung und verbale Gewalt gefährden zunehmend unsere Demokratien – nicht nur, aber vor allem im Netz. Hate Speech verletzt Menschenrechte, greift Diskussionskultur und Solidarität an und drängt Menschen aus dem öffentlichen Raum.
Was müssen Politik und Zivilgesellschaft in Europa tun, um Hate Speech im Netz aktiv entgegenzutreten und gleichzeitig die Meinungsfreiheit zu verteidigen?
Wir laden Sie herzlich ein, mit uns das giftige Paket Hate Speech auszupacken und gemeinsam Gegenstrategien zu entwickeln:
Digitale Konferenz
„UNBOXING HATE SPEECH - Europäische Impulse für Respekt und Solidarität im Netz“
18. Februar 2021, 10.00 bis 16.00 Uhr.
Die Konferenz wird veranstaltet von der Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, dem Auswärtigen Amt und dem Bundesministerium der Justiz und für Verbraucherschutz und findet im Rahmen des deutschen Vorsitzes im Ministerkomitee des Europarats statt.

Das öffentliche Programm können Sie auf Deutsch oder Englisch im Livestream verfolgen, eine Anmeldung ist hierfür nicht notwendig.
Die Workspaces am Nachmittag richten sich an einen geschlossenen Fachkreis, eine Teilnahme ist nur auf Einladung möglich. Die Arbeitssprache ist Englisch.
Wir würden uns sehr freuen, wenn Sie Ihre Expertise in diese Fachdebatte einbringen und laden Sie hiermit herzlich zur Teilnahme an den Workspaces ein.

Hatred, exclusion and verbal violence are increasingly a threat to our democracies, not only, but primarily online. Hate speech violates human rights, assails the culture of debate and solidarity, and drives people out of public space.
What do politics and civil society in Europe need to do to actively counteract hate speech on the internet, while at the same time protecting freedom of expression?
We cordially invite you to help to unpack the toxic package that is hate speech and to develop counter-strategies.
Digital Conference
„UNBOXING HATE SPEECH – European Impulses for Respect and Solidarity on the Web“

The conference is being organised by the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, the German Federal Foreign Office and the Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection. It is taking place within the framework of Germany’s Chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.

The public programme will be streamed live in German and English. Registration is not required for this.
The workspaces in the afternoon are intended for a closed circle of experts. Participation in this case is by invitation only. The working language will be English.
We would be delighted if you could contribute your expertise to these expert debates. We therefore cordially invite you to take part in the workspaces.
