A short introduction

FES has had an intranet for some time now. The current intranet, which was mainly used in Germany, will be 10 years old this year. It works rather statically: you can post documents, find contacts, and present projects. Dialogue is hardly possible - working together in real time is not feasible.

In the last 10 years our working reality has changed - also influenced by social media. We work together beyond departmental, office or national borders, we want to exchange information in open or closed groups, we want to be able to filter information, react spontaneously and much more. In short: we want an effective, dialogue-oriented cooperation. A social intranet offers all this.

Our new Social Intranet opens up digital networking and cooperation opportunities. There will be workspaces. These can be set up by any of you without release loops. You can store documents that are visible and editable for all members of the workspace. You can work together on projects, exchange ideas and discuss. A chat function is also available for fast, uncomplicated exchange.

Important information that applies to everyone (e.g. guidelines) or supports workflows (e.g. handouts, training) can be found on central pages, just like on the old intranet.

And last but not least: The lunch menu of the central offices or the bulletin board will also continue to exist. Running groups, singing together or betting games for the next World Cup will also find their place on the new intranet. We are very excited!

The intranet will be available in four languages: German, English, Spanish and French. This will give everyone access to the information and communication flows of the internal FES world.
