It was founded by Bayram Kunduz, Hidayet Gül, Emin Yilmaz, Kadir Korkmaz, Sabahattin Dirlik, Mahmut Yilmaz and Mehmet Demir.

Independent labour union founded in Ankara on September 16, 1992 to operate in the health sector.
The union is based in Ankara and was founded by Erdal Özer, Sati Simsek, Melek Kaya, Canan Büyüker, Fatma Iffet Atak, Lale Batum, Ilker Zaim and Sule Kaya.
It held its first general assembly meeting on 17.7.1994, when Erdal Özer was elected chairman and Sevket Metin Atak general secretary.

Independent labour union founded in Izmir on July 20, 1991 to operate in the land transport branch.
The union is based in Izmir and was founded by 62 drivers including Celal Örs, Osman Akarsu, Ahmet Girgin, Bülent Koc, Nedim Eynur, Ibrahim Eröz and M. Behcet Gözüngü.
At its first meeting on 12.1.1992 the general assembly elected Özdemir Yesildag (chairman), Zeki Demir (deputy chairman), Hasan Tegmur (general secretary), Ali Özilhan (finance secretary), Cengiz Bagbudar (organization secretary), Ercüment Aktas and Mecit Inalpolat to the board.

Independent labour union founded in Ankara on March 30, 1995 to operate in the metal branch.
The union is based in Ankara and was founded by Kaya Dogan (temporary chairman), M. Turan Yalcin, Rüstem Bedir, Mustafa Turan, Celal Cicek, Sebahattin Aslan and Kamil Türk.
At its first congress held on May 27-28, 1995 the chairman declared that the union was first founded by 7 workers from Parsan Makina Parcalari Sanayii A.S., but that they were subsequently joined by other workers who resigned from Türk Metal-Is union. The general assembly elected to the board Mehmet Sasmaz (chairman), H. Ömer Demir (general secretary) and Mehmet Aytekin (finance secretary).
The Governors Office of Ankara has asked the Ministry of Labour on 15.2.1996 to start inquiries about the union because M. Sasmaz and H. Ö. Demir were not among the founders of the union although they had been elected to the board and lacked papers to prove that they were actually employed in this industrial branch.

Independent labour union founded in Bandirma in 1979 to operate in the petroleum and chemicals branch.
The union is based in Ankara and was founded by workers employed by the Kalefleks company.
The union held general assembly meetings on: 10.12.1983 (3rd congress), 28.11.1985, 5.2.1988, 19.1.1990 and 30.3.1992. The board elected at the last congress was composed of Ahmet Gündogdu (chairman), Recep Erdem, Sükrü Isik, Recep Saban, Naci Kumoglu, Saban Taskaya and Bayram Sert.
(TRIKOTAJ, ÖRME, BOYAMA, GIYECEK VE IPLIK SANAYII ISCILERI SENDIKASI)
Independent labour union founded in Istanbul on September 30, 1977 to operate in the textile branch, originally under the name of the Union of Knitwear, Dyeing, Garment and Thread Industry Workers of Turkey.
The union is based in Istanbul and was founded by D. Ali Cömert, Emin Sahin, Hatice Yildizgil, Dimitro Cakreto, Salih K. Kocabas and Mehmet Yilmaz.
At the first congress of the union that was held on July 16-17, 1988, the prevailing unfavourable conditions for workers was criticised and a decision was adopted to change the name of the union to its present form. The union filed a suit against the employer at Renk Mensucat, where it was organized, for declaring an illegal lockout.
The union was closed after September 12, 1980 by the decision of the National Security Council and was put under trusteeship. The military court passed a ruling on 9.10.1984 for the acquittal of all of its leaders, and decreed that the headquarters and branches of the union be opened and returned to the administration of union officers. The assets of the union were delivered to its leaders on 10.1.1985 and the compulsory extraordinary congress was held on 20.4.1985. The union held its subsequent general assembly meetings on 16-17.7.1988 and 13-14.8.1994. The board elected at the last congress is composed of Durmus Ali Cömert (chairman baskan), Sabri Saray, Zehra Kandemir, Sabahat Ayaz and Necati Kaya.
(TURIZM, KONAKLAMA VE EGLENCE YERLERI SANAYII ISCILERI SENDIKASI)
Independent labour union founded in Ankara on June 18, 1992 to operate in the accommodation and entertainment branch.
The union is based in Ankara and was founded by Halil Hamdi Alpak, Yasar Umit Akkaya, Hüseyin Akkaya, Tuncer Kaya, Cihangir Kaya, Fezai Kaya, Salim Duran and Cetin Balkeser.
The union held its first general assembly meeting on 20- 21.2.1993. The board elected at the congress is composed of Halil Hamdi Alpak (chairman), Yasar Umit Akkaya (general secretary), Ibrahim Akkaya (finance secretary).
At this congress the participants stated that in their branch workplaces were small and scattered, thus rendering extremely difficult the fulfilment of the stipulation to organize at least 10% of the workers in the branch to be able to conduct collective bargaining. The delegates also criticised existing labour unions for failing to ensure job security for their members.

Independent labour union founded in Istanbul on February 4, 1974 to operate in the theatre, cinema and similar sites branch.
The union is based in Istanbul and was founded by Aziz Nesin, Yasar Kemal (temporary chairman), Turgut Uyar, Ali Özgentürk and Bekir Yildiz.
The union held general assembly meetings on: 21.10.1974, 25.12.1975, 26.3.1977, 31.3.1979, 7.4.1991, 21.3.1993 and 4- 5.2.1995. The board elected at the last congress is composed of Ataol Behramoglu (chairman), Feyza Hepcilingirler, Emin Karaca, Adnan Özer, Isil Özgentürk, Nevra Bucak, Tansu Bele, Melisa Gürpinar and Necati Mert.
The roots of the union can be traced to the Association of Men of Letters led by Sükran Kurdakul, Melih Cevdet Anday and Rifat Ilgaz that existed prior to 1974.
Soon after its foundation, in March 1974, one of the first actions of the union was to express its support to writers such as Dogan Kologlu, Süleyman Ege, Muzaffer Erdost, Behice Boran and Sadun Aren who were in prison at that time and to elect another imprisoned author, Mehmet Emin Bozarslan, as the first member of the union.
The board elected after the first congress carried out important work concerning the issue of copyrights.
In 1975 the delegates to the congress stressed the need for the reinforcement of the relations with the Bar Associations and DISK, protested the draft law on the institution of state security courts, and expressed solidarity with the working people of Chili. Decisions were adopted for furthering the rights of authors in the law and organizing various cultural events.
The union set up several commissions for the specific problems of authors and translators, and established good relations with international organizations of writers.
The charter of the union, as amended in 1993, declares that the union was born from the need, in the conflict between capital and labour, to form a disciplined force against capital and to organize labour".
The union acts in cooperation with such organizations as PEN and the Association of Men of Letters. It has not signed any collective labour contracts.

Independent labour union founded in Istanbul on June 25, 1995 to operate in the air transport branch.
The union is based in Istanbul and was founded by Ibrahim Öztürk, Cemil Isik, Hayri Orman, Rifat Yanardag, Lütfi Belli, Semseddin Güler, Cem Bozkurt Bikmaz, M. Ali Özkurt, Hasan Hüseyin Mandaci, Savas Unen and Hakki Özer Öztürk.
The union has not convened as yet its first congress. Its temporary chairman Ibrahim Öztürk resigned from Hava-Is, where he had been active for many years, after an unsuccessful attempt to be elected chairman and started the new union.

Labour union founded in Adana on September 1, 1971 to operate in the construction branch, originally under the name of the Union of Construction Industry Workers of Turkey; member of Yol-Is Federation, a Türk-Is affiliate, between 1981-1983, afterwards independent.
The union is based in Adana and was founded by Mehmet Höcü, Halil Caliskan, Bekir Kirkpinari, Selahattin Kilic, Abdullah Süzen, Ali Mizrakci and Nejdet Özcan.
The union held general assembly meetings on: 14.3.1972, 8.6.1972, 28.9.1975, 1.11.1981, 13.12.1986, 10.1.1989, 10.1.1990 and 17.1.1993. The board elected at the last congress was composed of Mehmet Höcü (chairman), Süleyman Dadaloglu (general secretary), Vahap Ertas (finance secretary) and Kemal Sile.
The union does not have any branches or periodical publications.

Independent labour union founded in Ankara on June 21, 1973 to operate in the wood industry branch, originally under the name of the Union of Wood Industry Workers.
The union is based in Ankara and was founded by Süleyman Akkaya, Kemal Aydinbas, Necmettin Erkan, Halit Özata, Sabahattin Kutlu, Durmus Murat, M. Ejder Atlig, Osman Polat, Asaf Altinisik and Osman Yahsi.
It held general assembly meetings on: 6.10.1976, 18.12.1983, 6.7.1985, 29.11.1986 and 25.3.1990. The board elected at the last congress is composed of Bahri Aydin Kepenekoglu (chairman), Meryem Basci (general secretary), Ahmet Akbin (finance secretary).
The union changed its name to its present form in 1975.
Official investigations have been conducted about the union at various times for failing to convene its general assembly meetings on time and because its leaders were also serving in the boards of other unions. It took part at one time in the foundation of the Confederation of Independent Unions together with 15 other unions, which like Yapsan-Is existed only in name.
It has reported 500 members as of May 1974 and 67 (17 women) as of end-1980.

Independent labour union founded in Ankara on April 19, 1993 to operate in the commerce, office, education and fine arts branch, originally under the name of Türk Büro-Sen (Turkish Union of Workers Employed in Commerce, Office, Education and Fine Arts).
The union is based in Ankara and was founded by Sidika Tan, Abdullah Yagci, Fatma Aksu, N. Kemal Yilmaz, Yalcin Kaan, Miktat Er, Halim Riza Öngüc, Gökhan Fevzioglu, Serap Berk and Nihat Arun, some of whom were employed as office workers in the Union of Employers of Casinos, Bars, Nightclubs, Dancing Pavilions, Taverns and Entertainment Facilities of Turkey.
A letter sent in 1993 by the police department to the Ministry of Labour reported that some of the founders functioned in the boards of other unions and legal action should be taken in case this state of affairs was not remedied.
The union changed its name to Yeni Büro-Sen at its first congress that convened on August 7-8, 1993. The board elected at this meeting was composed of Yalcin Kaan (chairman), N. Kemal Yilmaz (general secretary) and Fatma Aksu (finance secretary).

Independent labour union founded in Ankara on September 6, 1993 to operate in the cement, soil and glass branch.
The union is based in Ankara and all of its founders were employees of the Duman Kum Transport and Contractor company.
The temporary board of the union was composed of Ali Ihsan Yücesoy (chairman), Sahin Yigit and Ömer Duman (deputy chairman), Nizamettin Öztürk (general secretary), Yücel Ayaz (finance secretary) and Nurcan Tekdemir (education secretary).

Independent labour union founded in Ankara on July 30, 1993 to operate in the accommodation and entertainment branch.
The union is based in Ankara and was founded by Refit Aras, Halil Aydogdu, Ali Yavuz, Fatma Türkan Ay, Erkan Yildirim, Adil Güngör and Orhan Gönültas.
The Ministry of Labour warned the union in 1993 to drop the words of Turkey" from its name as the necessary permission had not been obtained. The Ministry sent another letter in 1995 stating that investigations would be started about the union because it had not held its general assembly meeting within six months from the day of its foundation.

Independent labour union founded in Ankara on August 31, 1993 to operate in the construction branch.
The union is based in Ankara and was founded by Hasan Ugur, Kazim Kaya, Mahmut Baybek, Sahin Duman, H. Ali Ergut and Hasan Basbozkurt.
In the temporary board Ö. Oktay Özaydin was chosen as chairman, V. Mete Sipahi as deputy chairman and Hasan Ugur as vice-chairman.
