How can an equal representation of women and men in parliaments be created? Parity laws are already established in some European countries, Germany has only just begun. While in Germany some federal states have already embarked on implementing new parity laws, at the federal level, however, a reform of electoral law with parity regulations remains controversial.
As with other political and social reforms - it is worth looking beyond the German horizon. In this publication, reports from France, Norway, Poland and Germany are collected and made available for the current debate. The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung is supporting this debate on the right paths to parity with this publication.
