Gender
In the late nineties the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung decided to mainstream gender in its project work. This reflects a simple recognition that gender stereotypes in the behaviour of men and women are not so much the result of hereditary disposition as mediated by social conditions. This interpretation also underlies FES work in international development cooperation.
